Do you know of any kind of experiments that could leave someone without the ability to feel emotions?

Have you heard about the kidnappings, lately? The ones where the victims return a few days after they disappeared?

Maybe...well, not medically, maybe, but possibly psychologically...

I don't know if any of the victims went to the hospital for treatment, but... they seem to experience some pretty weird symptoms.

From their description of what they experienced, it seems like someone was running experiments on them. They don't have any clear idea, though.

It mostly seems to involve being in a tube. That's all they remember. A common symptom after they reappear is complaining about pain in the chest area and acting strangely-- like their emotions are out of whack...

That's okay. To be honest, it sounded kind of like something out of a story rather than anything that could happen in real life...

Aha, well, ah, some things that are in stories are used as a basis for certain things! Like space ships, submarines, even medical experiments!

Me too. I guess part of me still finds it a little hard to believe... [ Not the existence of magic, persay, but rather that it could become so common that it's seen as ordinary. ]

Ah...probably some kind of healing ability! So I could accelerate healing, or...be able to touch a person and heal what's wrong with them.

But if I couldn't have that, I'd like to be able to fly. [Laughs.]

Ah, well. I, um. Have a lot of patients who read those comic books, and a lot of the superheroes were able to fly! And I... thought that would be pretty cool. [Sheepish.]
